June 2006

We’re launching People Aggregator and it’s going great. Just over 400 people tried it out in the first 24 hours of private invites. More to come as we open it to the public. Officially open today at noon. We’ll be on the launch tour over the next few days…

Roll outs at Marc’s place tonight and then at Gnomedex on Friday.

It’s already been a huge benefit to have feedback from so many users on the UI. I sense it will help accelerate the tweaking process a lot as we move out of Alpha.

Some more info about People Aggregator here too.

I can’t count the times people have asked me about the easiest way to get into recording audio. So here it is… Odeo has everything you need to record, and better yet, to publish your recordings.

You can even record and send messages to friends. If you have a computer with a microphone, you’re all set! No software to buy, install or configure.
For the tech note side of Odeo: They’ve done a great job of designing little flash player that plays xpsf playlists so they re categorize can republish and every ones stuff.

I wrote about the super cool sidebar that Phil made for People Aggregator, and it was… But one build later its size changed and resulted in exploding the layout on my entire site. So I’ve removed it for now. If you’re still curious to see what I wrote about, Marc has one on his site and so does Phil.

Doug Lanza has asked me to present at the Worship Summer Day Camp that he’s putting on in San Francisco. The day camp runs a full week starting June 19th. It’s looking like a great line-up of talented people putting leading the event.

My focus will be doing something to do with recording music. I’m not sure yet if I’ll be doing a presentation or more of a hand’s on recording workshop. Doug and I have talked about querying the attendees and letting this thing be “user driven”.

So sign up ASAP to attend a great week of learning and be one of those “driving users”. If it’s not for you or you’ll already be out of town on your early summer vacation, call Doug; He has several deserving attendees that would love a partial or full sponsorship!

Some info and all the contact data is on the WYSIWYG site.

That new little sidebar widget posts relations of mine on People Aggregator. Peep Agg, as Marc Canter sometimes affectionately refers to it, is our new social networking tool based on open standards. This latest Alpha build is super cool. Go get your name on the early bird list if you haven’t done so already.
